Again with Gemini Rail Technology, I assisted the engineering team in the electrical integration of the ETCS system and associated requirements, including:
Also providing assistance with concept and preliminary design, clause-by-clause and maintenance documentation.

Since 2011 Midwinter Engineering & Electrical Ltd has supported a number of rolling stock projects based the UK, with work extending to Italy and Japan in the process of undertaking the tasks.
Shown here are a few snapshots from Richard of what we've been up to since starting out.
Having worked on the Class 395 introduction as an employee, including the final commissioning and testing of the TVM430 high speed signalling and system support of other on-board electronic systems, I undertook document work for Hitachi Rail Europe (HRE).
I updated and improved the ILOS as well as assisting the company by authoring their Maintenance Plan and Maintenance Policy documents for engineering recertification of the 395 fleet.
During 2012 and 2013 I supported Interfleet/SNC-Lavalin with their IC2 and IC4 projects for Ansaldo Breda and Danish Railways.
The tasks involved attending quality inspections at the various train building sites in Italy to ensure consistency with established benchmarks.
Working with Gemini Rail Technology (formerly Kiepe Electric) I worked as a senior electrical engineer on the Class 442 refresh, specifying and designing the electrical systems for the following:
Further support was provided for delivery of design documentation, in addition to standards and contract compliance.
This was an exciting project to be involved in as it was for supplying new trains for services on the Great Western Railway, as well as on the East Coast Main Line where I started out in railway engineering.
Supporting the Project Engineering department in the capacity of Electrical Project Engineer I assisted with ongoing design development as well as liaising with the TOCs and submission of clause compliance documents to the DfT
I was privileged to visit Japan on a number of occasions, to assist the HRE engineers in Kasado and Mito in the development of the IEP on-board systems to meet both standards compliance and user expectations.
